Days of Our Lives Recap | Week of Dec. 15

"Aiden, are you hiding something?"

Days of our Lives this week had yet another sturdy week of just straight up soap drama. The thing with Days is that they’re good at finding that middle ground and keeping it stable, but they’ve recently not been able to keep the good drama good for the longterm. Thankfully, they’ve not been stuck in such terrible times when things fell off either. But you can’t be just okay or good forever, you have to surpass that! With the beginnings of a love triangle, possible murder mystery and maybe a taste of happiness for a long suffering character, maybe the stories will shoot back into the stratosphere. Only time will tell in Salem but until then, let’s check out what went down last week!

General Hospital Recap | Week of Dec. 15

Olivia's the heroine of this rom-com!

General Hospital delivered heavily on the dark comedy and bumbling heroine front – two of my absolute favorite genres and character traits! It’s like they knew I would be watching intently this week. Even characters that had always had me unsure had me curious, wanting to cheer for them to do well! How did that even happen and in such a short time? As you’ll see, a lot is possible in Port Charles so let’s get down to it!

Days of Our Lives Recap | Week of Dec. 8

Grand-siblings-in-laws re-connect?

Days of Our Lives this week proved that maybe we shouldn’t get ahead of ourselves to claim everything boring on this sudser. There was actually a full heaping of good drama this week though there are still storylines that deserve a good axing (Ben and Abby, Clyde’s buffoonery, anything Paige related). There were two storylines that carried the week along well, and the weight of the show with it! The pieces all seem to be falling into place for a dramatic next few weeks in Salem! Check it out!

General Hospital Recap | Week of Dec. 8

Johnny gets Sonny riled up!

General Hospital didn’t disappoint with the action of last week! The excitement was held up to new levels with a police station shootout, prison beat down and dramatic Canadian rescue! There wasn’t a lot that I could say I was displeased about, almost all of it hitting me in one good way or another. Unfortunately, I don’t have time to write that all out so check below for some of my top highlights of the week in Port Charles in the General Hospital Recap for December 8-12, 2014.

Days of Our Lives Recap | Week of Dec. 1

Sonny's flashbacks leave him sweating!

Days of our Lives was… well, lacking on the drama front last week. The condition of the show’s storylines is in stark contrast to what was playing out on screen just a year ago. I could only pick out two storylines really worthy of going over for the entire last week! That’s a big problem! There was a comment that I saw online saying something along the lines of, “all of the storylines on Days at the moment are B or C storylines, there’s no A storyline” which is blindingly true this week. Hopefully Salem, USA can pick itself up out of this creative slump. It needs and deserves it! Check it out!

General Hospital Recap | Week of Dec. 1

Our psycho family sticks together!

General Hospital took a deliciously evil turn this last week. Though the week before’s unproductive return was further dulled down with yet another switch, there was more than enough mystery in the return of major players in Port Charles’ pantheon of evil. But how much mystery is too much mystery? And just how long can these twists in their stories stay thrilling before becoming exhausting? Port Charles had me scratching my head with a lot of these questions this week! Check it out!

Days of Our Lives Recap | Week of Nov. 3

Ben explodes... again!

Days of our Lives seemed to begin anew at least storyline wise during the week of November 3rd. Especially on the last day of the week, it seemed that old storylines had finally either come to a close or sped up, giving a much more exciting feel to the show after having dragged a bit. With some show veterans now off canvas, the newest face introduced to Salem, Paul Norita was like a breath of fresh air! There were some obvious slip ups in the storytelling this week but all in all, it was an enjoyable week in Salem, USA!

General Hospital Recap | Week of Nov. 3

Michael has had enough!

As we were promised, General Hospital was wacky in the most enthralling of ways. This week, there were truly only two major stories playing out before us but those stories exploded due to the branching off of other storylines from over the last few months, tying together everything in a neat and crazy package. To say the least, this was yet another exciting week in Port Charles! Let’s check it out!

Days of Our Lives Recap | Week of Oct. 27

Daniel attacks Kristen... in bed!

Days of our Lives picked itself up again last week just as I had expected it to! There’s no way there can be two boring weeks in Salem, USA because though it is a sleepy Midwestern town, they’ve had aliens and clones. Rough patches at Days don’t always last very long which is good considering they tape so far in advance, there’d be no way to fix it in a timely manner if they didn’t smooth out on their own. Here are some of the highlights of a few storylines that stood out the most for the week of October 27, 2014 in Salem, USA!

General Hospital Recap | Week of Oct. 27

Nina always gets what she wants!

Last week’s General Hospital had its share of undesirable elements, every soap opera has them, but they seemed so tiny in comparison to everything that was done so, so right. From wedding exposures to using paralyzing agents on pregnant women, the best parts of the week were so deliciously evil that it left me feeling like a bad person for enjoying it! The last episode of the week had me trembling, biting my nails with nothing but anxious energy flowing in my veins as the multiple storylines finally began to meld into one; I hadn’t been that excited with a soap opera in a long time! Let’s dig deeper into Port Charles’ riveting last week of October!

Days of Our Lives Recap | Week of Oct. 20

Big sister knows best?

After what I felt was a stellar week of classic soap drama last week on Days of our Lives, this week didn’t keep much of the same momentum going. In fact, it fell sort of flat and dragged along for its five day stretch… but we can’t have it all, right? Hopefully the creative team behind the scenes has got their gears grinding out something new, riveting and best of all, soapy to keep the audience watching! All in all, it was a satisfactory week, nothing too exciting to watch but there were definite highlights to storylines that should be mentioned! Let’s do a quick rundown of the happenings in Salem, USA last week!

General Hospital Recap | Week of Oct. 20

A love triangle for the older set!

Last week on General Hospital was a bit of a slow-burner kind of week compared to the last, but it was enjoyable nonetheless. Sometimes the viewers need a little downtime after always racing at 90mph! Finally, after months of pussyfooting around, there is a possible end in sight for a handful of storylines, many of which a lot of viewers have found to have gone stale But since when have soap operas ever been courteous about our patience? We may think things are ending just as another curveball is shot our way, sending us off on another weeks long tangent. Let’s check out what happened in Port Charles the week of October 20th, 2014!

Days of Our Lives Recap | Week of Oct 13

Sami grieves the loss of her love!

This past week on Days of our Lives primarily focused around one major storyline that some predicted from months ago and others did not want to believe would ever come to pass – the death of EJ DiMera! For the viewers who loved EJ, they were sent on an excruciating emotional journey, experiencing the multiple facets of grief from many beloved characters, as well as a little mystery and intrigue meanwhile for viewers who didn’t care for the reformed villain – well, they had lots to cheer for! Let’s dig deep into the event that shook Salem, USA to its core this week!

General Hospital Recap | Week of Oct. 13

Nina's plan is forced to evolve!

Last week on General Hospital was a thrilling one, and not for the high paced adventure we’ve been getting for weeks now but because major storylines were actually pushed further toward their endings. Some storylines even seemed to come to a climax but when it comes to soap opera – especially on the twisty-turny General Hospital – one is never sure if it truly signifies a coming end or something much, much more. Either way, it was not a slow week in Port Charles! Let’s check out what went down!
